As far as I know, males always fight and compete and show off etc for having the beauty (='fun'

) of females. That was my point.

Tetralonia for sure! Great dynamic picture, pity about that big 'C' on i but of course I understand the reasons.

I'd say that the males compete more for the female attention in nature than vice-versa, and usually they look much more beautiful. In humans it's definitely the females which are FAR more beautiful

whether it's objectivity or hormones which make me speak like that

Thanks for the compliments - yes, the pic is likely to be used for a publication.

In most (all?) species it is the male who searches for the female not the other way round. I should have used another phrase instead 'beauty of females' maybe the 'bounty of females' but I did not wanted to get too much into censored text!
