Violet flowers with small leaves

Post by MWP admin »

Seen few of these plants having leaves apressed to the stem and violet flowers. Light conditions not ideal (7-8pm) but hope its enough for recognition by our experts.

Have not seen Lythrum hyssopifolium for months because it usually grows in rockpools which are dry at this time. If you found it in a watercourse (as i suspect) L. junceum is more probable.

I found it in at the edges of a fallow field residing at the lower parts of a slope (or hilly plataeu) which in Winter Spring this area is often soggy and wet. However when photo was taken, soil was dry and hard. Not in a rock pool, habitat definitely not a garigue.

Can we arrive to a conclusion?
