Hope this the right place to post this.

Does anyone know where the L-Ghain tal-Mellieha water reservoir is ? Cannot find any reference to it on the internet.

I ask because I have been told that a new dragonfly for Malta, Orthetrum nitidinerve, has been spotted there, and I would very much like to get a photo of it, even though it's too late in the year and I shall have to wait for next spring.

I dont really know, maybe this will help you…

Spring water was provided from the water-table under the Main street "Strada Reale", pass through the Grotto of Our Lady of Mellieha "Strada Nona" and kept running until reaches the valley spring at "Wied tal-Madonna".

And also check with the local council, they sometimes know such places. Then show us the dragonfly.

Speaking about dragonflies, the one on my website Anax imperator is mislabelled, it is another rarer species of Anax - A. parthenope.

Yes yours is not the Emperor (anax imperator - the thorax would be apple green and not a dark brown). It is the Lesser Emperor (male) anax parthenope .The difference can be seen in these photos, the first is a female emperor and the other is a pair of lLesser Emperor.
