Orthoptera IDs 1 of 4: Locust with red underneath wings/legs

Post by MWP admin »

I have this species which should be common, but I am without my local fauna books at the moment. What attracted my eye about this Orthoptera member was that it looked red when it jumped/flied, hence it have a red coloration probably at the lower face of the wings or hind legs.

The red comes from the second set of wings. There are some with blue instead.
