Hello Stepehn
I think your fly pale and tiny 3208 looks like a Tephritid and specically like a male Acanthophilus helianthi. The larvae of this feed on a variety of Asteraceae particularly Centaurea, Carduus, Carthamus, Sonchus etc. I get this species in my garden here in the UK. It normally shows a few scattered darker markings towards the back third of the wings but not always.

Thank you Alan, I will include these flies in my website and credit you for the ID for that small fly. Yes it was sitting on an Asteraceae (off-hand I forgot which plant species). If the photos are good enough to identify the others, do not hesitate to share your opinion. Thanks for your email - i handle that soon.
Stephen you may like to register on http://www.diptera.info/ and then try posting your unknown fly images on there for identification by specialists. I get a lot of my European fly queries resolved that way.

Hi Alan, sorry for my absence, I am building an Amaranthus key and I am have some good trouble with the red flowering species - I might post them here. I was also very busy with the MaltaWildPlants.com update released last night. I have other sources of trouble at the moment too! I will catchup soon and thanks for the diptera.info website.
