Unknown flower
Found this flower growing on the side of a pathway in a valley and as I couldn't trace it on this website, I am thinking that it is a cultivated flower. Any ideas ?

Did you find/photographed this ornamental species in a cultivated area or escaped in a natural habitat (garigue/steppe/wasteground/ etc?)
If the latter, it may qualify to be included it in the website. With very few exceptions, MWP brings native wild plants, naturalised aliens and those which are often ornamental/horticultural/agricultural but can escape and be found in the wild (casual aliens) . However, the photo must be from the wild (and from Malta!) to justify this.

I found this on the verge of a pathway in the valley below the Halland Hotel at L'Ibrag. I often go for a walk there as I live very close by. High up on the side of the valley there are a few villas, and I suspect that this plant was being grown there, and that some seed might have been carried into the valley by the wind, and germinated there. The picture was taken a few weeks ago, but I went there today and the plant was dried out. The flowers (there were 2 flowers on the same plant) are nowhere to be seen. They could have been picked up by someone, as this is a favourite place for people who walk their dogs there.

ps. Some 10 days ago I sent you an email together with a couple of photos of Lampides boetica. Have you received them ?
