These are a few of the photos of orchids I took this year. I believe that 1 & 2 are Ophrys melitensis and 5 is Orchis collina, but I stand to be corrected. What about 3 & 4 ? The white stuff on the tip of 4 is the remnants of a spider's web. Ophrys pectus perhaps ?

Good shots really - seems I need to upgrade my 3 yr old trustful camera. ID correct. 3,4 Ophrys fusca as they say here on the forum :wink: The white artifact are 'footprints' of a snail (os slug)

Many thanks Stephen. May I please say that in my opinion it is the lens that makes the difference, not the camera, a dedicated macro lens is imperative when photographing small flowers. I also use a technique called "image stacking" to get the necessary DOF.

beautiful pictures of what arguably are the nicest monocots ever :lol: not from a bee's point of view though!
