From the shape of the leaves it should be an Elm tree, and I would opt for Ulmus glabra (European Mountain Elm) This Elm is deciduous so if you took the photo in Winter, than its not U. glabra

Do you know the leaf sizes?
We have a more common Elm (Ulmus minor) but this do not grow that tall, and usually in more shady / humid places, such as along Wied il-Luq, Buskett.
Also be aware of hybrids between different species of elms, though yours looks to me to be U. glabra.
many Elms were introduced by the Brittish and have 'spoiled' the native genetic pool.
