Remarks :

Introduced in artificial ponds and open reservoirs where they seem to survive throughout all the year so far water does not dry in summer. This old hybrid exist in several horticultural varieties in different colour forms such as white(albida) pink (rosea) and the one seen in Malta with light yellow flowers as the 'chromatella' variety
