Eiselt and Schröder say, its native from Middle- and East-Asia and Australia, but is naturalised nearly all over the world.

I think you are close but she said tree. Maybe the ornamental passionflower is considered as a climbing tree?!

It is a real tree with a lot of wood and height for Passiflora to climb .

Is it a native or an ornamental thing. If the latter I'll give up as I am not good (or much interested) on these until I buy Weber's new book in Dec.

I answered last Tuesday, that it should be naturalized and You don`t have to wait for the next book, You find it in the last one.

Ailanthus altissma

Idenified finally from the leaves which I took 2 months ago at Comino. I never examined in detail the flowers.

Great!!!

The only thing, why I didn`t mention Weber earlier, is, that he only speaks about the male and female flowers growing on different trees, but the book, I cited, says, there are hermaphrodites as well.
And all the trees, I found, are hermaphrodites, so that I was afraid, to produce confusion.
Hope so much, I could explain, what I wanted to say.

Ailanthus was my first immediate thought but the leaflets in the photo don't seem to be paired but alternate so I gave up.
