Anyone familiar with this difficult species. Can't even figure out the family. I am putting the photos in one large photo which is over 950pix wide - sorry for the exception!

if the leaves are palmately with 3 (1-5) leaflets, it is Rhus lancea (nice group in Howard Garden, Mdina.

In the upper right photo, there is what looks to be a 3-whorl or compound 3-leaflets leaf. I will recheck my specimen from San Anton.

I saw this plant at The Howard Gdns., Mdina about a month ago and have attached a photo'. My first though when viewing the plant from a distance was Eucalytpus. The leaves are narrowly lanceolate, single, and slightly reflexed, and virtually sessile. The bark on the branches is smooth and a reddish brown.
There is a another plant in the background of this photo' which has grey bark .
