hey Admin- you are good when you are half asleep :) - what about the others? Are you all full asleep? Seems that they do not like german beer...
Admin: In fact, the family is wrong (but you are not really cold!)

A beer - thanks!

Can you make me a list of German beer so as I can choose one!

Jokes apart, is that the normal garden Bougainvilla - usually they have yellow tubular florets not pinkish. Very clever to remove the purple bracts (or they are just modified leaves?!) - it confused everyone I think!

PS, you are allowed to make more quizes this year if there is a beer linked with them :-)

yes, B. spectabilis or B. glabra. The corolla is not yellow- it is whitish. Few flowers are arranged together, surrounded by (e.g. the red) inflorescence bracts, like in Asteraceae or Euphorbiaceae. The pinkish touch of the corolla was the result of changing the colour of the bracts via Photoshop

Does it mean they are synonyms or there are 2 different Bougainville species in Malta ?

I prefer non-"man-mutated" pics please. I could make a crucifer with 8 orange petals without anyone noticing. The thing is that while I (and maybe others) was researching the flower to have an answer, I gave the 'pink' some importance and so I was mislead.

If the photos is 'accidentally' edited, I do not mind to be post so far the poster would say exactly how the orignal should look.

Admin, sometimes I put a flower at the top of another stem and ask student- to sharpen their eyes. But of course you are right, in this forum we should not do so (may be later in 2 or 3 years.... )
