Orchids
I came across these orchids this morning and although they look different to each other, they are probably the same species as they were pretty close to each other. Could someone please ID them ? Many thanks.

Many thanks. So the sensible thing to do is to label them as "Ophrys"

A recently new endemic species from Malta:
Ophrys iricolor subsp. hospitalis (Delforge) Mifsud & Lewis
Check profile on website for more info. You will be safer if you label it O.fusca s.l. though because certain groups of Ophrys are better identified in-situ due closely related species (Eg. O. lupercalis) or hybridism. Very complex subject!

Thanks Stephen. I found two groups, one having 6 examples and the other 2, in the valley behind the Villa Rosa in St. Georges Bay.
