I know it is " TUT" but what is the real name?

Have been trying to learn " Tommy tuta, tuta tyba" etc etc etc for 25 years--today was the first time I ate one--magnificent!

Now, I want to know all about it. The tree I found has its roots in sea water! Is this a preference of the plant? Are they common? Do they fruit and flower at the same times each year? Are there varieties?
