Is this Centaurea nicaeensis?

This should be C. nicaeensis, but somehow it looked different from the norm - very erect, without branches. No mature flowers yet.

Large and very erect specimens of Centaurea nicaaensis confirmed today. Wished to be C. melitensis which I have never yet encountered. I also have never figured out why melitensis and then not endemic (usually melitensis species are endemics )
