Orchis lactea

Is it possible to tell, just by looking at the photos, whether this is orchis lactea or a light coloured example of orchis conica ?

It seems that O. lactea may not be present locally. Light coloured, sometimes almost completely white specimens of O. conica are not rare and so I think that your photo must be one of these.

However this brings to mind a question for the experts here:

What morphological characteristic/s can distinguish between O. conica and O. lactea?

Many thanks for your help. My main interest is in photographing wild flowers (and insects) but I also like to have them identified, and as I do not know much about flowers, your help is much appreciated.
