Plantago lagopus XL or Plantago lanceolata

Post by MWP admin » Wed Aug 27, 2008 5:23 pm

What do you think about this plant. I have a wishful doubt on the very rare Plantago lanceolata (never seen so far) or just a big version of Plantago lagopus.

very difficult to answer without dried (from herbarium= "herbarised" in English?) specimen, would suppose Plantago lagopus XXL because the leaf surface looks crumpled. Btw- how are you?

I think you are right - should be just Plantgo lagopus Giant version. I did not know the ID-tip about wrinkled leaves, so thanks for that.

'herbarised' - hmm... I would avoid it as it does not ring very nice to my ears :P but RB/Robcar are better people for this question.
