Upps! Than not bistorta but salicyfolia. But the small new one is not hairy, like that from the first link; or did I misunderstand something?

In the last weeks I found A. commutatum earlier and with heads up to four times bigger than this one with the same size like Yours from June. Therefore I called it melitense in hope, that it`s correct.

That Persicaria-idea was my first impression too, and there are Persicaria bistorta in Wied Sara and Wied Ghasri, from where Il-Pine- or another member- took the pics last year. But I think, it is another species.

The habitus and size are like Convolvulus ( arvensis? ), but what happened to the flowers? Or is it something else???

30 cm high plant, grows near watercourse

The 2 pics with the flowers are taken in the last days of April, that with the fruit in June. Hope You can help.

Contends mucus and tannin; very obsolete use for wound healing and against inflammation of skin ( might be for teenagers with acne ), nothing really interesting.

Excuse me not answering earlier; but looking for a pic of the leaves, I found fotos like this one in the copies from the card to the extern harddisc. Nearly 80% are dammaged and I don`t know, what happend.
