I don´t think so. Actually the Globes stay much longer in buds as in the Cardoons. If you do not harvest the Globe they will flower bigger in size as in the Cardoons- that is what I found...

Hi, it is possibly Lablab purpureus (English: Hyacinth Bean, Lablab Bean, or Poor Man's Bean) called in Maltese: L-lablab! It is a vegetable, and also grown for ornament, sometimes at home walls (e.g. Luqa).

unknown food plant

1. Has anyone an idea to which species those tubers belong? I found it exhibited at the festival Lejla Mgarrija last year.
2. This pic with the fruits is Meryta denhamii, demonstrated as food at the festival Lejla Mgarrija last year. How do the Maltese eat it: salad, vegetable, fruit?

I hope everyone of the Forum members accept my delayed seasonal greetings, herewith. Not a mass of Christmas stars and not a firework for this new year but a nice grass population in Malta (Aegilops geniculata) :)

I know no mushrooms, but I have a colleague who is an expert. These tasty animals are commonly not "identifabely" :) by pics only, but in this case it COULD be a Psathyrella
