The only thing, why I didn`t mention Weber earlier, is, that he only speaks about the male and female flowers growing on different trees, but the book, I cited, says, there are hermaphrodites as well. And all the trees, I found, are hermaphrodites, so that I was afraid, to produce confusion...

I answered last Tuesday, that it should be naturalized and You don`t have to wait for the next book, You find it in the last one.

The first plants, I saw, grow in Wied Infern and some days later I saw this one near the farm at the end of Triq ta Konti in Zebbug; that is near Grazias house, where, as I suppose, You took that Althaea rosea- Photo.

Did I make a mistake? I wrote, "not to find" .

I think, it could be Fagopyrum esculentis, not to find in Borgs Haslams or Webers books. Request all of You, to have a look please.

And it`s no Passifloracea.

I know, that neither Borg nor Haslam nor Weber ( he till now )
list it, but I tried, to identify it carefully, when I found it in Bärtels Colour-Atlas of mediterranean Plants by Ulmer.

That patula You find in Germany as "weed to kill" in the fields and has more blueish (?) leafs like Yours. And it`s smaller than mine.
If it`s very rare, no wonder, I never met it on Gozo.

Might be, it`s the joke of today, but the leafs and the stem remind me somewhere to Musaceae and that cannot be.
Lets start with: Monocotyledon?

Remind please, it is eatable, and some Gozitan Farmers propagate it and serve it like spinach.
At google I coudn`t find a Synonyme for the name, I have in mind.

Neither halimus nor prostrata.

It is a real tree with a lot of wood and height for Passiflora to climb .

Eiselt and Schröder say, its native from Middle- and East-Asia and Australia, but is naturalised nearly all over the world.

This one I identified as A. prostrata and hope, that is correct.

The height of this plant is more than 2 mtrs. And You can eat the leafes, not JP only.

It`s a cousin of Beta.
