Further Information:
A widespread European species from the family Lycaenidae. They are strong migrants as they fly rapidly and don't settle for long. Several plantfood by mainly Leguminose plants (peas and beans). Flight Time: Feb - Nov. Size: 30-36mm. A characteristic feature is the small tail-like appendage at the back of the wings. For Malta, this is a protected species.
