Further Information:
The larva of this moth lives on various foodplants which are Rubus ulmifolius, Salix, Genista, Lythrum, Punica, Ricinus and Parietaria. A similar species is the Dysgonia torrida which is rarer and is distinguished thanks to the shape of the fascii found on the wing. The bands of D. torrida tend to curve slightly smoother than those of D. algira.
