Further Information:
A specimen which is not yet fully identified, but could be the rare Capsodes vittiventris or the more common Capsodes gothicus. Such insects are often found roaming on plants on which they feed. Specimens of this particluar hemipteran was found on Lolium spp. and Gladiolus italicus in 7th May 2012 at Buskett. They seem to have an excellent sight because they avoided the camera quite swiftlty by moving on the opposite side of the leaf stalk. Many species of this genus are known for eating leaves and some are knowns as notorious pests. Idetification usually requires seeing the tiny distinguishing characterss under the microscope or magnifying glass
