Argyrodes argyrodes  (Walckenaer, 1842)
Main synonym = Linyphia argyrodes    Walckenaer, 1842
Taxonomical Classification:  Animalia / Arthropoda / Arachnida / Araneae / Theridiidae
Dewdrop Spider     Maltese name not known
Further Information:
This species comes from a family of spiders also known as kleptoparasites that is, they steal other spiders\' prey, usually larger from them. They invade and reside in their host\'s web even though they can spin their own webs. However, the relationship can sometimes be commensal or even mutual since the dewdrop spider can feed on small trapped insects that are not eaten by the larger host. This was found together with Agriope lobata.

Check this video were one can see two different species of spiders (Nephila + Argyrodes) on the same web. - [ Video Link ]
