Further Information:
A small moth of the family Tortricinae (Tortrix moths) which its larva is reported to feed on plants of the Liliacea (Lily family) namely Asphodel, Scilla and Urginea. The one in Malta is normally found on Urginea pancration (Urginea maritima / Drimia maritima) where the pupa is also found to develop on the leaves of this plant. The species in Malta was found to differ from the typical form and consequently the subspecies vallettai was described - the epithet given to a Maltese lepidopterist named A. Valletta.
