Further Information:
A large and conspicuous dragonfly. The male has an apple green thorax and a blue abdomen with a black mid-dorsal stripe.
The female too has an apple green thorax, but the colour of the abdomen varies depending on age.
It is usually seen on the wing and very rarely at rest, except when it catches a very large prey and cannot manage to eat it on the wing.
