One of the largest grasshoppers wheret he male is 50mm long and the female 70mm. Found everwhere in the countryside, especially near cultivated land, where it is often seen on trees and shrubs. Despite large size, it causes little damage to crops. The nymph of the Egyptian grasshopper is green and camoflauge with the vegetation it feeds on. The adult gradually changes to a dull beige colour
